Crossings

Crossings £850

Indigo, avocado and rust dyed cotton and Japanese linen thread.

Crossings is from a body of work responding to the border country of England and Scotland. Pigments, materials and forms have been collected from the area to make a series of textile paintings where natural dye has been rubbed into the creases and folds of cloth which has been left in the rural landscape over a period of time. Linen thread is stitched onto the cloth to mark out a territory, border or crossing indicating the impression of the man made onto the natural environment.
