Inhabit

Uncategorized

I’m very excited to announce that my application for an ACE grant for the arts to fund a new body of work has been successful! I will be carrying out two residencies to make new sculptural work exploring the use of silk in my practice.  Silk is the main medium in this work, it provides a crucial bridge between my UK and South Korean heritage drawing upon its rich tradition in both countries.

The first residency will be carried out at The Comfrey Project where, among other things, I will grow a silk worm colony alongside the support of participants and staff at Windmill Hills Centre in Gateshead. The second residency will be held at Silk Museum, Macclesfield to respond to the historical archive and make work for a solo exhibition in 2017.

I apologise in advance for the amount of photos of silk worms I will no doubt be posting.

Sorry.
